Missions
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20
At SOW, we offer the opportunity for students to participate in local and global missions enriched by covenantal and practical missiological training. We are committed to mobilising, training and equipping university students for local and global missions because Jesus commands His disciples to “Go” (Matthew 28:18-20). Our aim is for our students to be gripped by the urgency of the gospel wherever they are, whether it be locally or far away.
What does SOW Missions look like?
Our missions programme gives students an opportunity to partner with a long-term local ministry overseas or inter-state, and to have their worldview challenged as they see the reality of the need of the gospel far beyond their immediate contexts.
Prior to the trip itself, students are provided with training, the opportunity to fundraise and have intentional conversations with those around them about missions and what it means for those in Christ.
Missions 2024
This year, SOW will be sending 2 teams out to Cambodia and Taiwan.
Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare and venture out to spread the gospel and be witnesses of Christ outside their comfort zones.
